Concrete shortage to delay portions of Vedder Road widening project in Chilliwack until early August

CHILLIWACK — A supply chain shortage of concrete will delay final completion of the ongoing Vedder Road renovation project until early August.

The City of Chilliwack has issued an updated planning schedule for the Vedder Road widening project as it nears completion.

Due to concrete supply shortages, final concrete median and sidewalk pours cannot be finalized until after the August long weekend. B.C. Day is Monday, August 1.

Starting tomorrow, July 21, milling work at night will go from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning. Night paving work begins this Sunday, July 24 and carries on through the night until 5 a.m. Monday morning, as well as Monday night, July 25 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
