UPDATE: Power restored for thousands in Chilliwack Wednesday morning

**Update at 8:13 a.m.: Crews have restored power to most of the affected area. Just under 200 customers remain without power.**

CHILLIWACK — Thousands of residents in Chilliwack north of Highway 1 are without power early Wednesday morning (Feb. 28).

According to the BC Hydro outage website, 3,974 customers lost power at 4:09 a.m. in an area south and east of Yale Road, north of Prairie Central Road, and west of Ford Road. The outage affects much of downtown Chilliwack, the Yale Road corridor leading to downtown, and Rosedale.

Crews have been assigned with an arrival time of 6:20 a.m. The cause is under investigation.
