ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police department has announced the arrests of three men who investigators allege, were planning to kill rival gang members as part of the brutal gang battles taking place through the B.C. Lower Mainland.

A news release from Abbotsford police alleges 34-year-old Gavinder Siekham of Surrey, was conspiring with 26-year-old Anmol Sandhu of Abbotsford and 26-year-old Navdeep Dhaliwal of Abbotsford, to murder rival gang members.

The arrests came about through a drug trafficking investigation started by the department’s Drug Enforcement Unit in late 2022. Evidence uncovered in the investigation led to the initiation of a Major Crime Unit investigation named “Project High Table”. It focused on the evidence around the plans to commit murder.

The three individuals were arrested Wednesday (Feb. 21). All three are being held in custody.

In addition to the murder conspiracy charges, Sandhu and Dhaliwal has been charged with drug trafficking offenses.

In a news release, Abbotsford Police said “the arrests mark a significant development in the ongoing efforts to curb gang-related criminal activities in the region.” It says further information is not being released to protect other ongoing investigations.
