AbbyPD cracks down on reckless drivers: 17 high-hisk offenders taken off the streets in a week
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department is reminding motorists that those who don’t follow the rules of the road, will be caught and punished.
In a social media post Friday (Feb. 9), it says its officers removed 17 high-risk drivers from the streets this week alone. A whopping eight drivers were caught speeding in a school zone during school hours. One other driver was flagged for excessive speeding.
According to ICBC, speeding in school zones can result in a fine of up to $253 and three penalty points on your driving record. Excessive speeding can result in a fine of up to $483 and three penalty points.
