CHILLIWACK — A Chilliwack non-profit whose mission is to provide a variety of support services for older adults in Chilliwack has hired three new staff to help sustain its mission and programs.

Adrianna Kerkhoff, retired Chilliwack city employee Janice McMurray, and retired Surrey city employee Marcia Hannay have joined Chilliwack-based Compassionate Neighbourhood Health Partners Society as part-time staff.

Kerkhoff, the organization’s part-time volunteer coordinator, completed teacher’s college and worked as a teacher and EA in Chilliwack until giving birth to her first child in September 2023.

“I am looking forward to taking on my new part-time role as volunteer coordinator for CNHPS, where I will be connecting with volunteers, recording monthly hours, and processing new applications,” Kerkhoff said.

Janice McMurray has accepted a role as part-time executive assistant. She previously worked with the city of Chilliwack for 30 years, including the last 10 years as deputy corporate officer in the corporate services division.

In collaboration with board members, her job entails assisting with updating current bylaws, updating the website and social media accounts, assisting with the development of a three-year strategic plan, and seeking fundraising opportunities and grants to cover program needs.

Marcia Hannay is the part-time older adult program coordinator. She has lived in Chilliwack since 2004 and in 2016 retired after 25 years with the City of Surrey.
