B.C. RCMP investigate death of an infant; man and woman arrested
WILLIAMS LAKE — Mounties in Williams Lake in central British Columbia are investigating the death of an infant that happened Friday.
According to a statement from the B.C. RCMP, members of the Williams Lake RCMP detachment responded to a local area hospital after a 32-year-old man was reported to have attended the hospital with a deceased infant. Police say a second child with injuries considered non-life-threatening was located and transported to hospital for medical assessment.
B.C. RCMP report that a 32-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman have been arrested and subsequently released. Police state this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no current risk to the public. According to the RCMP statement, personnel with the provincial Ministry of Children and Family Development have been contacted and engaged and the investigation is currently ongoing. The B.C.
