Snow possible in parts of Fraser Valley today

Dec 9, 2023 | 6:03 AM

CHILLIWACK — Environment Canada says Fraser Valley residents could see some snow fall in higher elevations of the region Saturday (Dec. 9).

In a special weather statement issued early Saturday morning, the national weather agency says a robust frontal system will deliver rain and mixed snow this morning from Vancouver to the Fraser Valley.

While no accumulations are expected at sea level, higher elevations could see up to 10 cm of snow on the ground by late afternoon.

It suggests that snow will be short-lived as temperatures warm in the early evening. Any precipitation remaining in the system will turn from snow to rain.
