MISSION — Mission RCMP say they’re looking to locate a man who allegedly threatened to kill a loss prevention officer at a grocery store in Mission in late November.

According to a weekly bulletin issued by the RCMP, Mounties in Mission say a loss prevention officer affiliated with a grocery store in Mission reported being threatened with a knife around 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 30. The officer observed a man in his 20s attempt to exit the store without paying for a bag of groceries. When the loss prevention officer confronted the male and took away the bag of stolen items, the man pulled out a knife and threatened to kill him.

Police say the loss prevention officer was not injured, but the man who issued the threats fled on an electric bike. Police were not able to locate the man and are still working to identify the offender through closed-circuit TV footage.

Mission RCMP are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect in the photo that accompanies this story. Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to contact the Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161.
