Woman in critical condition following pedestrian crash Friday morning in Abbotsford
ABBOTSFORD — Abbotsford police say a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Friday morning in the city. In a news release, AbbyPD says the collision occurred at the intersection of Wheel Ave and Townline Road around 7:35 a.m.
Upon receiving the call, police rushed to the scene where they found a 43-year-old female pedestrian who had suffered critical and life-threatening injuries. First responders administered medical aid to stabilize the woman and then transported her to hospital where she is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the involved vehicle stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the ongoing police investigation. Initial assessments suggest impairment is not a contributing factor to the incident.
AbbyPD patrol members, alongside the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service are examining the details of the collision. Traffic in the vicinity was halted to support the investigation.
