Correctional staff seize $24K worth of cocaine, other drugs at Abbotsford prison
ABBOTSFORD — A tip of the hat ought to go out correctional staff members at a federal prison in Abbotsford for their role in confiscating over $24,000 worth of illicit drugs.
Correctional Service Canada says that as a result of the vigilance of staff members, contraband was seized at Pacific Institution, a multi-level security federal institution, on Monday, October 23.
This seizure is the result of the combined efforts of correctional officers, security intelligence officers, and other staff. The contraband seized includes 66 grams of cocaine and other drugs. The total institutional value of this seizure is estimated at $24,460.
The police have been notified and the institution is investigating.
