Abbotsford police arrest wanted man found with concealed fake gun

ABBOTSFORD — Police have seized a “very realistic” replica handgun from a wanted man in Abbotsford this week.

Just before 9 a.m. on Friday (June 26), along Gladys Avenue, AbbyPD officers arrested a 24-year-old man who was known to police and wanted for theft.

Patrol officers then found the fake gun hidden in his bag, which was taken before the man was booked into jail.

“Incidents involving replica firearms are taken extremely seriously,”  said the Abbotsford Police Department. “These items are often indistinguishable from real weapons, requiring a significant police response to ensure public safety when these are brought into the public space.”
