Fireworks ban reminder for Chilliwack residents
CHILLIWACK — If you’re looking to get your fireworks fix this Halloween, you’re going to have to leave Chilliwack. Like many other municipalities in British Columbia, the use of fireworks is banned within city limits.
The Upper Fraser RCMP recently sent out a reminder of the bylaw that exists in Chilliwack via social media. In fact, even being in possession of fireworks in Chilliwack is considered illegal under the bylaw.
The bylaw states fireworks can lead to property damage and personal injury. In addition, it says many people consider the loud explosions to be a nuisance to residents and their pets.
