Minor injuries reported after 2-vehicle crash results in massive fireworks show west of Hope

HOPE — The Hope Fire Department says a motor vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a semi truck resulted in a massive fireworks show Thursday night (Oct. 26) along Highway 1 west of Hope.

According to a Facebook post from the department, Hope Fire says its firefighters were dispatched for the report of a motor vehicle incident pitting a pickup truck versus a semi truck near Hunter Creek at 9:51 p.m.

“Proof yet again that you’ve never seen it all in the fire service,” Hope Fire wrote on Facebook.

Crews arrived to find a semi and a pickup truck and trailer hauling fireworks in the ditch with occupants reported out of the vehicles. The pickup truck and trailer was on fire with fireworks actively deploying, Hope Fire said. The fire was contained to the vehicle of origin.
