Mission RCMP warn public not to buy any new or near-new Lenovo computers after burglary
MISSION — Mounties in Mission are warning anyone looking to get a sweet deal on a Lenovo laptop to reconsider following a commercial burglary at a storage facility in the Mission area.
According to a social media post from the detachment, Mission RCMP say a large quantity of Lenovo laptop computers had been stolen during a commercial burglary at a business in the area. Police are currently investigating and are urging the public to use caution when purchasing any new or nearly-new Lenovo laptops from unauthorized sellers.
The serial numbers of the stolen items have been flagged on police databases, and the associated Windows product identifications have been deactivated.
“Anyone thinking they are getting an amazing deal on a laptop may quickly find that they are amazingly disappointed when they find that their new computer is unusable,” Mission RCMP wrote in their statement online.
