GoFundMe started for Hope man who lost his home, all belongings in a fire
HOPE — A GoFundMe campaign has been started for a Hope resident who lost his home and everything he owns due to a fire that happened Tuesday night (Oct. 17) near Othello, east of Hope.
According to a social media post on the department’s Facebook page, Hope Fire Department personnel responded to Jason Road near Othello, east of Hope, just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday after receiving multiple reports of a possible mobile home on fire. On arrival, crews encountered a small single-room structure and a recreational vehicle fully consumed by fire. Hope Fire says there was also some extension of the fire into nearby trees.
Hope Fire Department said the fires were quickly contained, and crews remained on scene until 9 p.m., for what appears to be nearly 2 1/2 hours of time spent attacking and completely overhauling the fire.
The occupant of the residence sustained minor injuries, and the cause of the fire remains unknown at this time.
