BC Hydro power outage impacts 831 customers in Chilliwack River Valley

**Power has now been restored to 831 customers in the Chilliwack River Valley in the Chilliwack Lake Road corridor.**

CHILLIWACK — A BC Hydro power outage has impacted 831 customers in the Chilliwack River Valley.

According to an outage map update on the BC Hydro website, customers in the Chilliwack Lake Road corridor between Baker Trails in the west, (near 46511 Chilliwack Lake Road) and Post Creek in the east, have been without power since 5:16 p.m. Monday (Oct. 16).

Crews have been assigned, but there is no stated time for when power is expected to be restored to these 831 customers. The last update was 7:56 p.m. Monday night. Power still had not been restored as of 9:10 p.m. Monday night.

It’s not officially known if Monday’s thunderstorms and blustery winds caused the power outage. The cause of the power outage is under investigation.
