Man reportedly drowns in Vedder River near Peach Park Friday
CHILLIWACK — A 55-year-old man reportedly drowned in the Vedder River near Peach Park Friday afternoon (July 21).
Chilliwack Fire, BC Emergency Health Services, and Chilliwack Search and Rescue were deployed sometime after 3:30 p.m. Friday to an area just west of Peach Park for the report of a possible drowning.
First responders attempted to revive the man with cardiopulmonary resuscitation through chest compressions, but the man could not be revived.
A crew of four SAR rescue personnel utilized a raft to reach the area in the river where the man was administered medical treatment.
