IHIT called to Abbotsford home on Madiera Place west of Clearbrook, arrest made
ABBOTSFORD — The Abbotsford Police Department says the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been dispatched after municipal police discovered a deceased person at a home in the 31000 block of Madiera Place in West Clearbrook.
According to a press release from Constable Art Stele, media relations spokesperson for the Abbotsford PD, patrol officers attended a home on Madiera Place at 7:29 a.m. in response to a suspicious circumstance that had been reported to police. On arrival at the residence, officers located a deceased person.
The Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit is in the preliminary stages of this investigation, Constable Stele said. Early indications suggest this incident is an isolated event, and the public is not at risk. An arrest has been made in connection to the event, and the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) was informed of the occurrence. The Abbotsford Police Major Crime Unit will be transitioning this investigation to IHIT, with the IHIT media team providing further updates.
