Chilliwack RCMP trying to locate dangerous vape cartridges containing cannabis, synthetic cannabinoids
CHILLIWACK — Chilliwack RCMP is asking for the public’s help in finding out where vape cartridges, or similar looking products, are being sold that may contain dangerous substances and lead to side effects like vomiting and blackouts.
At the same time, police in Chilliwack are warning the public of benzodiazepines detected in vape juice containing cannabis and synthetic cannabinoids.
On Thursday, June 29, Fraser Health issued a drug alert after benzodiazepines were detected in vape juice, saying the juice that tested positive contained cannabis and suspected synthetic cannabinoids and had been sold in refillable, unmarked and unbranded cartridges.
In a statement from Corporal Carmen Kiener, media relations spokesperson for the Upper Fraser Valley Regional Detachment in Chilliwack, RCMP say there are reports that these illicit products are sold in clubs and bars, but it may be sold elsewhere.
