ABBOTSFORD — A B.C. driver with a lead foot and an “L” learner license did the exact opposite of everything that ICBC teaches young drivers.

The Abbotsford Police Department posted on Facebook Wednesday that its Traffic Enforcement Unit officers stopped an “L” driver driving 127 kilometres an hour on Highway 11 in Abbotsford sometime Tuesday, July 4.

Not only was the driver well over the posted speed limit, there was no supervisor in the vehicle as required, and the driver made things worse by dangerously passing other motorists, according to the social media post from Abbotsford Police.

Naturally, officers impounded the car and presented the driver with a $368 violation ticket.
