Sold-out Hope fashion show raises over $22K for Fraser Canyon Hospital
HOPE — A sold-out fashion show on Saturday, April 22 at the Royal Canadian Legion Hall in Hope raised over $22,000 for the Fraser Canyon Hospital, thanks to the generous efforts of attendees, donors, businesses, and volunteers alike.
In a news release, the Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation says the Legion Hall transformed into an evening of food fun and fashion for approximately 135 individuals. The Spring Fashion Show was a partnership presentation of the Auxiliary to the Fraser Canyon Hospital and Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation (FVHCF). The show raised $22,500 to help fund needed equipment such as a medicine dispensing unit for the emergency department at Fraser Canyon Hospital.
Runway models highlighted fashion from the Little Shop of Hope, located inside the Fraser Canyon Hospital, as well as Lolly’s Fashion Lounge, Hunni’s, Magnolia and Oak, Ronald Allan, Champagne & Lace, and Black and Lee. On top of these shops, the T-shirts of Hope stole the show with local models such as Hope mayor Victor Smith.
“Once again the fashion show committee has outdone themselves,” said Liz Harris, executive director of the FVHCF. “Our partnership with the Auxiliary allows us both to do greater things for the community of Hope.”
