Hot temperatures bring threat of rising water

VANCOUVER — Warm weather throughout B-C has pushed temperatures to new record highs in several communities this weekend.
Environment and Climate Change Canada says Victoria and Merritt broke records set in 1926 on Friday, with temperatures reaching 22 and 29.4 degrees, respectively.
New temperature records for April 28th were also broken in places like Abbotsford, Hope, Sechelt, Squamish and Whistler.
The warm weather has prompted the province to warn residents to be prepared for possible spring flooding, as melting snowpacks may increase the likelihood to rising water levels in rivers and streams.
