Hope-area First Nation gets federal funding for new minibus
HOPE — A First Nation community in Hope has received new funding from the federal government to support public transit service in the area.
Ottawa has granted $239,890 to Chawathil First Nation to establish transit and buy one accessible minibus.
The funding is part of the Rural Transit Solutions Fund (RTSF), supporting the expansion of on-demand and fixed-route services in 13 remote communities.
“Whether you live in a large city or a rural community, you should be able to count on reliable transportation to get where you need to go,” said Patrick Weiler, MP for West Vancouver—Sunshine Coast—Sea to Sky Country.
