Construction starting on $143M replacement junior-senior high school in Pitt Meadows

PITT MEADOWS — Students at Pitt Meadows Secondary School are set to have a massive upgrade in the coming years as construction begins on a replacement project on the same property.

The new school for youth in grades 8 to 12 will replace 1,100 seats in what the province calls a “safer, more modern environment,” and will include a nearby learning centre with a purpose-built space for Indigenous education, theatre space, and a teaching kitchen for the community.

“Pitt Meadows is a vibrant community with a bright future and I’m proud that the local high school will soon better reflect the community it serves,” said Education Minister Lisa Beare. 

“The new Pitt Meadows Secondary will give students a modern, welcoming place to learn, build friendships and create memories, while providing the wider community with spaces to come together for generations to come.”
