Update: 1 person deceased, 3 transported to hospital in serious condition after crash in Chilliwack

UPDATE: Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener has confirmed the death of a person following a single-vehicle collision overnight.

According to a statement, Cpl. Kiener says police responded at approximately 12:10 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Boundary Road and No. 4 Road on Monday, Sept. 14.

Officers arrived and located a vehicle that had left the roadway. Cpl. Kiener says three occupants were located and transported to hospital for medical treatment.

She says one person was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) attended and is assisting with the investigation.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Cpl. Kiener said.

CHILLIWACK – Chilliwack first responders were called to reports of a serious crash overnight near Boundary Road and No. 4 Road in Chilliwack.

The Pulse Point app indicates at least four ambulances were notified about a traffic collision near Boundary/No. 4 Road at approximately 11:57 p.m. late Sunday night.

Overnight scanner traffic as reported by multiple individuals on social media indicate a rollover occurred near this location.

Global BC reported this morning that three people are in serious condition in hospital due to the crash. At least three ambulances attended. Video broadcast by Global BC showed an upside down vehicle in a field several metres off No. 4 Road.

The road where the accident happened is being blocked by orange cones. Behind it are multiple evidence markers on the dirt/gravel and an RCMP vehicle parked nearby.

BC Emergency Health Services released the following statement to Fraser Valley Today: “BC Emergency Health Services received a call at about midnight today about a motor vehicle incident near the intersection of No. 4 Road and Boundary Rd. in Chilliwack. Three ambulances with paramedics as well as one paramedic supervisor and an ambulance with advanced care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment and transported three patients to hospital in serious condition. For more information, please contact the police.”

Abbotsford PD spokesperson Sgt. Paul Walker says the incident is being investigated by the Chilliwack RCMP and not their agency.
