CHILLIWACK – Chilliwack first responders were called to the Yale Road West overpass near Highway 1 Monday morning after a commercial truck rolled over.

Chilliwack Fire Department engines, Chilliwack RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services paramedics were dispatched to the overpass in Greendale at approximately 7:04 a.m. Monday (Sept. 14) after getting reports of a rollover.

First responders located a rolled over commercial vehicle in the grassy portion of the overpass off the road.

Several Chilliwack fire engines were paged. Some were later advised to either respond routine or to stand down as they had sufficient manpower.

At least two RCMP units attended.

Traffic on Highway 1 itself was not impacted.

However, the overpass on the north side leading to Industrial Way was blocked.

Weather and road conditions were not a factor as there was no rain falling Monday morning, and the roads in/around Chilliwack are dry this morning.

A BC EHS spokesperson says it received a call at 7:03 a.m. Monday morning about a motor vehicle incident at the Yale Road off-ramp on the Trans-Canada Highway. An ambulance with primary care paramedics responded to the scene. Paramedics assessed one patient at the scene who did not require BCEHS transport to the hospital.
