SURREY — A man has now been charged with multiple offences after a chaotic incident in South Surrey earlier this week.
On Wednesday (Sept. 9), at 4:44 p.m., the Surrey Police Service says several officers were paged out to an alleged assault in Redwood Park near 179 Street and 20 Avenue, in which the victim reportedly tried to drive away in his Ford pickup truck when the suspect drove his Jeep Wrangler into it.
The victim then ran from the truck while the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and chased him, but a nearby witness in a Tesla protected the victim until police arrived.
SPS took the suspect, Richard Mark James Evoy, into custody without incident.
