Abby cat rescue temporarily shuts intake with over 100 kittens in care

ABBOTSFORD — Abby Cat Daddy, a feline rescue group in Abbotsford, announced Saturday (Sept. 5) that it will not be taking in any more cats for at least two weeks to better support the furballs already under its roof.
“Right now, we simply cannot ethically bring more cats into our care without risking the quality of care provided to the cats already depending on us, and that is a line we will not cross,” said Logan Bryan, founder of Abby Cat Daddy.
The list of intakes includes stray cats, owner surrenders, transfers from other groups, and new trap-neuter-return sites beyond those the organization is already working on.
The nonprofit says it currently has “dozens” of adult and teenage cats, along with 105 kittens under six months, not all of which are ready for adoption.
