Longtime Chilliwack resident, broadcaster to run for school board
CHILLIWACK – A Chilliwack broadcaster and experienced board governance leader who served on five local and provincial industry boards will run for a seat on the Chilliwack Board of Education in this fall’s municipal election.
Sadie Hesketh, who previously hosted a morning radio show for several years in Chilliwack, has been an active part of the Chilliwack community since 2009.
As a local homeowner of 10 years who has a child enrolled in the Chilliwack School District, Hesketh says she’s running with a goal of aggressively lobbying the province for capital funding to match Chilliwack’s rapid population growth.
“Chilliwack is growing rapidly, but our school infrastructure is lagging behind,” Hesketh said. “Our students deserve permanent, modern classrooms, not an endless reliance on portable trailers. I am running to provide the strong, collaborative voice needed to push Victoria to update funding models, so they reflect our real-world enrolment numbers.”
