Hesketh enters the race backed by nearly two decades of local insight, paired with a robust track record of high-level board leadership spanning both provincial governance and grassroots community initiatives.

Hesketh is currently serving on the British Columbia Association of Broadcasters board. As a board member, she collaborates on province-wide industry governance and strategic advocacy.

Locally, Hesketh has given back to the community through board governance. She’s been a board member with the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, which partners with local business leaders to advocate for economic growth and robust community infrastructure, and the Downtown Chilliwack Business Improvement Association (BIA) board, whose goal is to revitalize the city’s local core and create safe spaces for families.

Hesketh has also devoted time and attention as a board member with Chilliwack Flight Fest, helping to deliver one of Chilliwack’s most beloved free community events with a strong focus on project coordination and teamwork, and with the Soroptimist International board, an organization that works to empower local women and girls through educational access.

If elected to the Chilliwack Board of Education, Hesketh plans to focus on four organizational tenets:

1. Proactive Growth & Infrastructure Management: Pushing for timely provincial funding to secure permanent learning facilities.

2. Fiscally Responsible Stewardship: Ensuring education tax dollars are transparently directed into classrooms, teacher support, and student services.

3. Safe and Inclusive Learning Environments: Fostering a school culture where every student feels safe and equipped to reach their full potential.

4. Collaborative Governance: Restoring trust through open, respectful dialogue between families, educators, and the board.

“I have the business background, the governance experience, and the foundational community values required to help ensure Chilliwack schools excel,” Hesketh said.
