CHILLIWACK – Police in Chilliwack say an e-dirt bike rider who was among nearly a dozen youths illegally operating electric dirt bikes on Thomas Road this past week has been fined over $1,400 and had their electronic motorcycle impounded.
According to a weekly RCMP summary of activities for August 17-23, Corporal Carmen Kiener says officers observed a group of approximately 10-12 youths operating electric dirt bikes on Thomas Road, which runs between Vedder Road and Promontory Road.
She says the scofflaws were seen driving dangerously, performing wheelies, and nearly missing other members of the public.
Cpl. Kiener reiterated that electric dirt bikes are prohibited on roadways in British Columbia.
