Most of the riders scattered before enforcement action could be taken against them, but one rider was stopped by police after being observed committing multiple offences under the Motor Vehicle Act. The rider was handed violation tickets totalling $1,428, the electric motorcycle was impounded, and the youth was released to their parents.

A few days later, police say RCMP members responded to a disturbance at Webster Park involving two teenagers who were riding e-dirt bikes and yelling at others in the park. Witnesses reported the youths were riding dangerously around young children. When confronted, police say the teens became belligerent and left the area. Police have not yet identified those involved.

“Parents and guardians are reminded that electric dirt bikes are not legal for use on public roadways and can pose significant safety risks to the rider and others when operated irresponsibly,” Cpl. Kiener said.
