Fourth bear attack in Metro Vancouver this month after man injured on North Shore

NORTH VANCOUVER — Conservation officers in British Columbia have issued a warning after the fourth bear attack in Metro Vancouver this month.

The Conservation Officer Service says the latest case happened in North Vancouver, B.C., on Monday in the Richard Juryn trail network, part of the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve.

The service says in a social media post that a man was walking by himself at around 8 a.m. when a bear began following him.

The man tried to scare the animal away, but it eventually swiped at his leg.
