FVRD launches new Facebook page for emergency incidents

CHILLIWACK — The Fraser Valley Regional District has now built a dedicated social media page for emergency preparedness and response information.

“FVRD – Emergency Management Organization” is a Facebook page designed to give residents, businesses and visitors in the region’s Electoral Areas a one-stop shop for timely emergency updates, preparedness education and links to detailed incidents on the FVRD website.

“The new FVRD EMO Facebook page strengthens our ability to share timely, actionable information during an emergency,” said Jennifer Kinneman, CAO. “It is one part of a broader communications approach that includes our EOC webpage, Alertable, media updates, and collaboration with valued emergency incident response partners.”

Residents are encouraged to follow the page. It will be used year-round as a primary social media channel for official FVRD emergency updates.
