Police seek witness to crash off Coquihalla Highway late July

COQUIHALLA HIGHWAY — BC Highway Patrol is looking for a specific witness to a single-vehicle collision on the Coquihalla Highway more than a week ago.

At around 2:15 p.m. on July 30, officers were called to the incident on Highway 5 northbound near Exit 286, just south of Merritt. 

A white GMC Sierra pickup had flipped on its side off the road, with its passenger suffering serious injuries.

“Witnesses told police that a man driving a tractor-trailer had initially stopped and said he had dash-camera footage of the collision,” said Sergeant Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.
