Firefighters tackle burning home in Mission Friday morning

MISSION — Residents in Mission may have woken up to smoke and sirens after a house set on fire on Scott Avenue early morning.

Witnesses first reported the fire shortly before 7 a.m. Friday (Aug. 7), at a home near the Mission Memorial Hospital.

The Mission Fire Rescue Service said it was still on scene of the fire as of 8 a.m.

The house involved had a collection of vehicles in its garage, with images after the incident showing some burnt, along with most of the garage’s roof structure.
