Mission Memorial emergency department to temporarily close overnight Monday

MISSION — Mission Memorial Hospital’s emergency department will temporarily close overnight because of physician staffing challenges, Fraser Health says.

The interruption begins Monday (Aug. 3) at 5 p.m. and continues until Tuesday at 8 a.m. Fraser Health said emergency department trained nurses will remain on site to provide basic care, help redirect patients and arrange transfers for those requiring urgent treatment.

Fraser Health said it is working with B.C. Emergency Health Services to ensure patients needing a higher level of care are taken or transferred to an appropriate hospital.
