Abbotsford launches public consultation on off-road trail strategy
ABBOTSFORD — The City of Abbotsford is beginning work on a comprehensive, long-term strategy to guide the future of its off-road trail network and is inviting residents to help shape the plan.
The collection of public feedback began today (July 27) through an online interactive map on the Let’s Talk Abbotsford website. Residents will have until September 30 to provide their thoughts. Two public open houses and several roving pop-up events in parks and on trails are also being planned in Abbotsford between August 10 and August 20.
The project is meant to establish a shared vision for a more connected, accessible and sustainable system of off-road trails that serves both residents and visitors.
According to the city, the plan will need to enhance recreation opportunities, improve access to nature, increase accessibility, promote geographic equity and strengthen connections between neighbourhoods, parks and key destinations in Abbotsford.
