Child airlifted to hospital after incident over the weekend in Chilliwack

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener said the incident on McSween involved injuries to a child. Criminality is not believed to be a factor and the child was taken to hospital.

“I won’t be providing more information out of respect to the family,” Cpl. Kiener said.

The air ambulance landed at Quik’s on McSween Road and was there for approximately 30 minutes after it landed, according to a witness at the scene.

The Pulse Point app indicated it was a motor vehicle incident, but no other information about the incident was released by BC EHS or Chilliwack RCMP.

The incident is the second accident in roughly a month that has involved a child on, or near, McSween Road. On Saturday, May 23, 2026, a child was transported to hospital after a traumatic motor vehicle incident in the 11000 block of McSween Road. Three ground ambulances and one air ambulance were notified in that incident. Paramedics cared for and transported one patient to hospital in critical condition.
