RCMP ask for help in finding missing Indigenous man
HOPE — Mounties in Hope and the surrounding Fraser Valley are asking for the public’s help in locating an Indigenous man and say it is unusual for him to be disconnected from his friends and family for an extended time frame.
Hope RCMP said Monday (Jan. 16) they hope to find 58-year-old James Thibert, who was reported missing on December 20. Thibert was last seen November 29 in Hope.
He is described as Indigenous, 5’7″ tall, 198 pounds (90 kilograms), with black hair, a mustache, and brown eyes.
Police say they are very concerned for Thibert‘s health and well-being. Friends and family report that it is out of character for him to be out of contact for this long, according to a statement from the B.C. RCMP.
