CHILLIWACK — Mounties in Chilliwack are looking to keep young people out of trouble with summer break right around the corner.

Police have launched an initiative with additional officers to conduct more patrols, as well as engage with youth, the Chilliwack School District and other partner agencies to boost community safety and well-being.

“Our goal is not simply enforcement,” said Staff Sergeant Grant Floris of the Chilliwack RCMP. “We want youth to enjoy their summer safely while making positive choices.”

Floris added that parents and strong community involvement are key to addressing issues facing local youth.
