Lower Mainland carousers busted by police in Hope after causing disturbance at short-term rental
HOPE – Police say multiple party animals from the Lower Mainland were required to leave a short-term rental in Hope last week after they created a disturbance in the neighbourhood and took items from the Airbnb-type residence, only to get caught by police.
Upper Fraser Valley RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says officers responded last week to complaints about a large, noisy gathering at a short-term rental on Silverhope Road. Police say the home was occupied by a large group visiting from the Lower Mainland, and all occupants were drunk.
Due to disturbances within the neighbourhood, the group was advised to leave the property and complied as directed by police.
But the story doesn’t end there. Shortly thereafter, the group of was observed travelling in a vehicle within Hope. During a traffic stop conducted by police, all occupants exited the vehicle, which consequently prevented officers from identifying the driver, Cpl. Kiener said.
