CHILLIWACK — Police in Chilliwack have tackled over 800 calls last week, between June 8 and June 14, ranging from more impaired drivers to several mischief calls.

One notable incident involved a woman who reportedly damaged windows at a home on Yale Road after throwing a rock into it.

She was arrested and released on conditions to stay away from the area.

Similarly, a woman known to police was seen throwing rotten tomatoes at passing cars on Airport Road. She was also arrested and has been held in court for the incident, as well as for an outstanding warrant.

Officers also investigated reports of property crime, including roughly $8,000 stolen from a truck on Robson Street, a vehicle break-in on Kestrel Drive and a garage break-and-enter on Thomas Road, where multiple suspects were seen stealing “thousands of dollars” worth of items.

“Chilliwack RCMP remind residents to secure their vehicles and property, report suspicious behaviour, and make safe choices—especially when it comes to alcohol and driving,” said Cpl. Carmen Kiener with the Upper Fraser Valley RCMP detachment.
