Mission Fest cancelled this year due to funding issues
MISSION — After nearly 15 consecutive years of community festivities, the Downtown Mission Board of Directors has made the “difficult decision” to cancel the 2026 Mission Fest due to new budget concerns.
“Mission Fest has always been a celebration of our community, made possible through the support of sponsors, volunteers, businesses, and attendees,” said the Board in a statement. “Unfortunately, the funding required to responsibly deliver the event at the standard our community expects could not be secured this year.”
As a result of a recent stakeholder survey, the Board added that resources will instead be focused on safety and security initiatives downtown.
“Rather than deliver a reduced event experience or place the organization at financial risk, the Board felt it was more responsible to pause the festival while exploring sustainable options for the future. […] We look forward to exploring opportunities to bring Mission Fest back on a strong and sustainable foundation.”
