LOWER MAINLAND – Police in Surrey are investigating a stranger sex assault of a female youth in which one person has already been arrested and charged, and are appealing to the public for help in identifying a second suspect.

Surrey Police Service frontline officers were dispatched at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 30 after receiving a report that a female youth had been assaulted by two men sometime earlier that day in a forested area near the 9800 block of Whalley Boulevard, Staff Sgt. Lindsey Houghton said.

Officers made contact with the victim who provided a description of both suspects to police, who were able to locate one suspect nearby and arrest him without incident. That suspect is Ricki Randall Taysup, a 38-year-old man who has been charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference. He remains in custody pending a bail hearing; his next court date is scheduled for Monday, June 15, 2026.

The second suspect in the sexual assault was described as a Hispanic male in his late 30’s, approximately 5’6” tall and 170 lbs, with long dark-coloured hair.
