Independent B.C. legislator Jordan Kealy charged with sexual assault
VANCOUVER — The British Columbia Prosecution Service says Independent legislator Jordan Kealy has been charged with sexual assault.
The service says the charge against Kealy relates to alleged offences between Jan. 1 and Sept. 20, 2024, in Fort St. John.
It says special prosecutor Gail Barnes was appointed on Feb. 9 this year involving an investigation by the North District Prince George RCMP into Kealy, who is the provincial member of the legislature for Peace River North.
The service says Barnes, a senior Vancouver lawyer, was appointed to avoid potential improper influence in the administration of justice.
