Heavy police presence fills Chilliwack neighbourhood Friday evening

CHILLIWACK – A heavy police presence flooded a Chilliwack neighbourhood east of Ruth and Naomi’s for a reported stabbing Friday evening, but police later determined no act of violence occurred.

A popular Chilliwack Facebook group lit up Friday night after a post depicted multiple police in the area of Margaret Avenue.

Chilliwack RCMP spokesperson Corporal Carmen Kiener says police attended a report of a stabbing. She says further investigation determined that the victim had fallen on a piece of glass and there was no criminality involved.

“No stabbing, just an accident,” Cpl. Kiener said.
