CHILLIWACK – Sardis Secondary’s varsity football program will have a new leader at the helm when it returns it to the gridiron later this year.

In a social media post over the weekend, the W.J. Mouat football program announced that Andrew Harder has stepped down as head coach of the Hawks and accepted a teaching position at Sardis Secondary in order to be closer to his home and family.

The AbbyNews first reported that Harder will become the program’s new varsity head coach.

Harder had been with Mouat since 2017 and invested countless hours into making the program better, the program said.

“WJ Mouat appreciates all he has done for us and we wish him the best in his next adventure!” the program said.

Harder will be leading a team that resurrected its football program in 2018. It recorded win-loss seasons of 4-4 and 3-3 in 2018 and 2019, respectively. The Falcons were winless in their 2022 campaign but picked up a win the following year in 2023, and registered an improved record of 4-2 in 2024. They finished fourth AAA East Division with a record of 1-5 last year.

Sardis Falcons varsity football coach Sukh Parmar will remain on staff with the program.
