Pepper spray suspect arrested in Abbotsford

ABBOTSFORD — A man is in custody after numerous people were pepper sprayed Wednesday in Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Police say they were called to the 31900 block of South Fraser Way just before 1 p.m. Officers quickly located a man near the Peardonville overpass. Traffic along the highway was briefly impacted as police pursued the suspect on foot and in police vehicles.

The suspect, a 36-year-old man was caught and arrested along South Fraser Way near the intersection of Townline Road.

Investigators are asking members of the public who were pepper sprayed or witnessed the situation to contact the Abbotsford Police Department.
