New Board Chair announced for Fraser Health Authority
SURREY — Fraser Health says a new board chair and two members have been appointed as part of an effort to strengthen governance and health-care delivery in the region.
Cindy Oliver has been named chair by the provincial Ministry of Health, replacing interim chair Opreet Kang. Oliver is a former president of the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators of B.C. and has held leadership roles in education, skilled trades and community initiatives.
In a news release, Fraser Health says her experience in governance and workforce development will support efforts to improve and innovate the delivery of care across the health authority.
The province has also appointed Leslie Bonshor and Loren Muth to the board. Bonshor, a leader from the Stó:lō Nation and Nooksack Tribe, brings decades of experience advancing reconciliation and Indigenous inclusion in health care and large institutions. Muth, a councillor with Ch’íyáqtel (Tzeachten) First Nation, also serves as a representative for Fraser Salish communities and as deputy chair of the First Nations Health Council.
