CHILLIWACK — The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) says its Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has returned to routine operations with the passing of the threat of the latest atmospheric river system.

It says residents of Electoral Area E will still continue to receive some messages related to the event through the Alertable app over the coming days.

“I extend my sincere appreciation to FVRD residents for their cooperation, preparations, and the way they looked out for each other during this weather event,” said Patricia Ross, FVRD Board Chair. “I also wish to thank our partners for their ongoing support and coordination for FVRD communities throughout the emergency response.”

The FVRD declared a State of Local Emergency on March 19 when heavy rains from an atmospheric river weather system threatened to flood local river systems.
