UPDATE – Police reopen road in Promontory following conclusion of incident

UPDATE at 10:20 a.m. — RCMP say the incident they are investigating on Rockwood Drive has ended and the area has been reopened to the public. No further details have been released.

CHILLIWACK — Promontory residents are being asked to avoid the area around Rockwood Drive on Monday morning while Chilliwack RCMP deal with an incident.

Police are releasing few details but say there is no immediate danger to residents or schools in the area.

Local social media posts report a number of emergency vehicles, including police, ambulance and fire trucks headed to the area around 8 a.m. Monday morning.
